Our Curriculum

The fundamentals of learning are well balanced through state-mandated curriculum and unique elective courses designed to challenge each student to reach their full potential – mind, body and spirit. We emphasize academic rigor, high achievement and a creative environment to connect students to their community and the world. In addition, small class sizes allow us to focus on the individual needs of each child.

Enrollment Information

Any student, grade K-8, residing in Pennsylvania may apply for enrollment. Transportation is provided by the school district in which the student resides if the child lives within the Coatesville Area School District or within a district that is 10 miles from the edge of Coatesville’s school district. Qualifying districts include:

• Avon Grove
• Coatesville
• Downingtown
• Kennett Consolidation
• Octorara
• Owen J. Roberts
• Oxford
• Pequea Valley
• Solanco
• Twin Valley
• Unionville-Chadds Ford
• West Chester

How to Enroll

1. Visit us during one of our Open House events
   -or-
   Make an appointment for a private tour and to obtain an enrollment package
   -or-
   Print all necessary enrollment forms from the “Enrollment Forms” section of this page.
2. Complete Enrollment Application
3. Complete Student Enrollment Notification Form
4. Complete Health History Form through Physician
5. During school hours, drop off ALL of the following documents:
   • Completed Enrollment Application, Student Enrollment Notification Form, and Health History Form
   • Student’s Birth Certificate
   • Proof of Residency (such as: utility bill, mortgage or lease agreement)
   • Student’s Health Records including updated Immunization Records
   • Completed Physical & Dental Exams
   • IEP Evaluation Reports, if applicable

Please Note: Enrollment cannot be finalized until ALL documents are received.

When can I enroll?

Open Enrollment for a Coatesville Area School District Child
To enroll your child for the upcoming new school year, applications are accepted during our Open Enrollment period (beginning each February after all re-enrollments have been completed). In accordance with Charter School Law, Graystone Academy must give preference to a new student residing in the Coatesville Area School District (CASD) over any other student enrolling from another district. If new enrollments received during Open Enrollment exceed the number of available openings, a lottery system will be used to determine the order of acceptance. Those students will be placed on a waiting list based on their lottery position.

Open Enrollment for a Non-Coatesville Area School District Child
Applications for enrolling non-Coatesville Area School District (CASD) students are accepted during our Open Enrollment period (beginning each February after all re-enrollments have been completed). Available slots are filled by non-CASD children after all CASD children have been enrolled. If non-CASD enrollments exceed the remaining number of available openings, a lottery system will be used to determine the order of acceptance. Those students will be placed on a waiting list based on their lottery position.

Enrolling after Open Enrollment Ends
We accept new student applications any time during the current school year, but new student placements outside of the Open Enrollment period are filled on a first-come availability basis. If enrollment is full, interested candidates are placed on our waiting list. No preferential treatment is given to students outside of the Open Enrollment period with the exception of sibling enrollments.

Enrolling a Sibling of a Current Graystone Academy Student
You can enroll a sibling at anytime, and although we give preference to a sibling of currently-enrolled students, we cannot guarantee their placement. If a sibling is placed on the waiting list, they will be given first preference over any non-sibling child on the list.
